As the renowned critic will step down from Vinous after five years, he dedicated words of praise for the country’s winemaking scene.
“…quality is higher than ever in Argentina and the country’s wines – and most-prized vineyards – have little resemblance to those of a generation ago. Recent successful vintages have only added impetus to the rise in quality”, comments Stephen Tanzer, Vinous taster for Argentina on his latest and last Report on the country.
“I found a higher percentage of outstanding 90-point wines this year than ever before”, the critic said, actually awarding Doña Paula wines high scores.
Alluvia Parcel 2017 achieved 93+ points, while Selección de Bodega Malbec 2017 received 93 points.
The Altitude Blends range of Doña Paula was also praised by Tanzer, who awarded 93 points to 1100 2017, while 1350 2017 received 91 points.
Lastly, the Estate range saw two of its most representative wines achieving 90 points: Doña Paula Estate Black Edition 2017 and Doña Paula Estate Malbec 2018.
